Changing Pennsylvania Roads -- For the Better!

In the last 10 years, Pennsylvania trucking accidents have increased dramatically, making many question the health risks, laws, and protection of drivers. Over this past year alone, the number of truck accidents has risen from 151 in 2014 and 175 in 2015-- a 16% increase!
Driver fatigue is the top reason for this drastic increase in accidents around the country. 1 in 4 drivers said they have fallen asleep at the wheel in the past month! This isn’t hard to believe since truck drivers are consistently on the road for 10-15 hours with little to no rest.
The health risks that comes with little sleep are extremely harmful to the driver’s physical state but also their mental state. Sleep deprivation may cause obesity, depression, heart attacks, multiple forms of cancer, and many more issues.
We’re proposing a STATE WIDE change in the hours drivers should be allowed to continuously commute. 14 hours is the current legal amount. We want to force the issue and lower the limit to 12 hours. 2 hours might not seem like much, but can be a difference maker in road safety.
We are looking forward to safer roads, healthier and happier employees. To make a revolutionary change to the trucking industry, sign our petition today.
