I want to thank everyone who is been sharing this and signing. I've always felt like this was a great, historic moment for Philly, and wanted to commemorate it. Most of my friends and family are sick of me telling them, every time we go past the McDonald's on Grays Ferry, that it is a historic location! Some folks are concerned that this may be in poor taste or exploitative. I'm thinking hard about that criticism. The intent here is positive -- ODB was a legend, and this is meant to be a celebration of his Philly connection. There have been some comments about the picture. It is a total fake, poorly photoshopped by me to give an idea of what this would look like. There is no existing marker, and the commission still needs to evaluate the application. This petition is meant to convey to the commission that people support the idea. Thanks, and please do continue to share this with people you think would be supportive.
