$500,000 - That's the amount Pennsylvania's Governor Tom Corbett has proposed cutting the Delaware River Basin Commission's budget.

Why is the Governor willing to risk the drinking water of New York City, Philadelphia, Wilmington, and the entire Delaware River Basin while fully funding all other regional water commissions?

The DRBC, started in 1961 when President Kennedy and the governors of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York for the first time signed concurrent compact legislation into law, is a a regional body with the force of law to oversee a unified approach to managing a river system without regard to political boundaries.

Now is not the time to tie the hands of the leading the agency that oversees the water supply for 16 million people.
