Supporters, I want to thank everyone for supporting the petition, & sharing my story. As I navigate the difficult judicial process, I hope to have an update to you all soon. For now - I encourage everyone to keep sharing my story to family & friends. If you or your family is affected by the criminal justice system share your story as well. Every story is important & we must not stop talking about them. We cannot change the criminal justice system overnight. Racial bias, police brutality, injustice, prosecutorial misconduct& corruption has been going on for centuries with no consequences. If we don't use our voices and votes to force change, change will never come! Through unity we conquer & the scale of justice will balance. Through division we continue to be victimized & live in fear of repercussions if we stand for truth. Thank you  - Melvin Ortiz
