On January 6th, 2021 Fullington Trailways transported at least two buses filled with people from State College, PA to Washington, D.C., attend the MAGA Rally. That rally turned into insurrection as domestic terrorists raided and broke into the United States Capitol building. At least five people were killed including one Capitol Police Officer who was bludgeoned to death.

Multiple posts on Facebook show that some of the individuals who rode on the bus and attended the MAGA Rally also marched to the Capitol Building and participated in the riot. The extent to which the individuals who rode on the Fullington Trailways bus participated in the attack on our Capitol Building is still unknown and warrants criminal investigation by local and federal authorities.

Fullington Trailways has indicated that their bus was chartered by a private organization who paid for their driver. Nevertheless, just months ago, Fullington Trailways hosted a rally in their Company parking lot during the Presidential Election, hosting Donald J. Trump Jr. Given the fact that the rioters were heading to D.C. to challenge the results of the election, Fullington Trailways transport of these individuals and connections to them and the campaign, ought to be federally investigated.

As a result, we are calling on Penn State University to immediately terminate all existing contracts with Fullington Trailways until an investigation is conducted regarding the relationship between Fullington Trailways and the individuals who attacked the Capitol.

Additionally, we are calling on Governor Tom Wolf to work with the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission in conjunction with the Office of the Physican General, Federal, State and local authorities to determine whether or not 1.) the number of individuals riding on that bus were socially distanced and in compliance with COVID-19 mandates, and 2.) investigate whether or not the individuals riding on that bus and/or Fullington Trailways have ties to domestic terrorism related organizations. Given the assault on our Capitol, the Central Pennsylvania Community, including Penn State University, deserves to know to what extent these organizations are operating in Central Pennsylvania.

Given the lawlessness this demonstration produced, we have little or no confidence that the participants socially distanced or reduced the capacity of riders on this bus. As a result, they have put fellow community members at risk for infection through these acts of violent extremism.

Fullington Trailways and companies who participated in the assault on our Nation have no place in our community.
