German III should be an option to the students who would like to take it. We deserve the opportunity to take the classes we want to take. The PHSD offered the class of 2020 a foreign language alternative to reading during their 8th grade year, as long as he/she received a recommendation from his/her LA teacher. Three options were available: Spanish, French, and German. There were an alarming number of students enrolled to take German I about 70 or 80 students. Then; at the beginning of the next school year (9th grade for class of 2020), approximately 50 or 60 students signed for German II. As we are begin to schedule our classes for next year we are told that German III will not be offered. Why we were not informed of this? Why only offer a class of German and not the full experience. On the other hand, there are Four Spanish teachers, which AP Spanish five. Last year, in the middle school, there was a student who had a Spanish class by himself. In that case why can't German have more classes if there is going to be 40 to 50 students who are going to take German III. If you offer one language for five years and have four teachers why can't we have five years of German? There would be no need for more teachers that is because the only German teacher said that he would be honored to teach German III as he has never taught it before.
