Hi everyone, PEMRA is still awaiting GEO's written response on the show-cause notice. Meanwhile GEO has still not fired Aamir Liaquat. You were successful in asking PEMRA to notice the hate speech, but GEO - while it has apologized - has still not listened to the civil society's demand to #FireAmirLiaqat. An apology, especially when Aamir Liaquat remains defiant and unrepentant is unacceptable. Liaqaut is guilty of hate speech and incitement and our silence will empower such behavior on TV. This is what we have always been doing. Protesting for a day or two and then forgetting about the issue. GEO knows this. They know the civil society will forget the issue. But this time, we shall not. So get on twitter and let Geo know that it sponsors hate (#GeoSponsorsHate) and the only way to clean its international reputation would be to #FireAmirLiaquat. Let us attempt to trend these Wednesday evening/night in Pakistan (starts 5PM PST i.e. in a few hours).
