Pit bulls do not deserve to be banned in states. They deserve loving homes, and when I found out they were banned in the area I lived in, I thought, I have to do something. So, I made a petition to get rid of the ban on pit bulls. Many people think that they are dangerous and vicious, but they really aren't. Every dog is "aggressive" until you train them. So why do pit bulls get the bad rep? In the mid-1800s, pit bulls used to kill rats in pits, where the name comes from, and people would watch, according to https://love-a-bull.org/ This is where they get the influence of being dangerous dogs. 

          As someone who loves dogs, it breaks my heart that they are illegal. I care so much about why pit bulls shouldn't be banned because I don't think that dogs should be banned just because of the breed.  According to https://notabully.org/ "Mostly because Pitbulls have garnered a reputation for being aggressive and governments would rather remove Pitbulls from the population than work to educate the public on how to responsibly care for and coexist with this wonderful, powerful, breed." This just goes to show how much people don't care for these loving creatures. 

          This will impact many people in Leawood and areas that have them banned. When you look at KS Pet Project and look at the dogs that are waiting to be adopted, you can say that many of them are pit bulls. If they aren't banned in areas, such as Leawood, there will continue you to be more and more dogs in the shelter. In conclusion, I believe all dogs deserve homes and to be legal.
