I was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. I am currently a military spouse who has traveled throughout the country and been in very low income areas as well as high income areas. Almost every area I’ve lived in has had a pediatric ER and/or hospital. I am a mother to a 2 year old little girl who has health issues, possible type 1 diabetes, and asthma. We come to Tyler often due to family living here and with my daughter having lethargic/weak sometimes unconscious episodes multiple times, when we come home we don’t feel comfortable or safe due to the lack of medical emergency attention towards little ones in this area. We have been to the main hospitals ERs here and they have no been help to her since she is so young and they don’t know much about pediatric medicine. We can’t try the urgent cares because most of them in this area don’t take our insurance. I am hoping I can convince the City of Tyler to build a pediatric hospital and/or emergency room with Drs and nurses specifically trained in pediatric medicine. As I see this will be beneficial for so many people in Tyler Tx and surrounding areas, I.e. Whitehouse, and lindale texas.
