Moreland Rd is one of the busiest roads in Coburg. Nestled between multiple schools, businesses and residences, it is risky and high-traffic at all times of the day and night.

Even in its quietest periods, crossing Moreland Rd near Cornwall st - to access the IGA and local schools - is a dangerous and difficult feat. The closest crossings are several hundred metres in each directions, significantly impacting young families and the mobility impaired. 

On the evening of May 15th the worst case scenario became a reality when someone was killed while trying to cross.
