Last week Governor Bill Haslam of Tennessee signed HB 1840 into law. The law allows mental health professionals to deny treatment to the LGBTQ community in Tennessee.

The American Counseling Association has said the law violates their code of ethics and condemned the bill. The Human Rights Campaign has also condemned the law, noting that much of Tennessee is underserved by mental health care providers and such a law could prevent people from being able to obtain treatment at all in those areas. Sadly, the governor and legislature in Tennessee do not care. All they understand is money.

Bonnaroo is one of the largest contributors to the tax coffers in Tennessee. Bonnaroo, albeit unwillingly, is funding the hate in Tennessee. Any musician or performer who plays Bonnaroo is as well. Please don't fund the hate and speak out by boycotting Bonnaroo and Tennessee entirely.
