The Issue
An occupation and encampment on the front steps and concourse of the City Hall in Santa Cruz, CA. We have only two simple demands, an end to the "sleeping ban", specifically: the suspension of ticketing under MC 6.36.010 section a, also known as the Sleeping Ban, MC 6.36.010 section b, also known as the "Blanket Ban" as cruel and unusual punishment serving no public benefit, and an amnesty for all tickets ever written for the offense of sleeping. These laws violate the basic right to life, the Constitution of the USA - and the UN Human Rights Accord. SLEEP IS NOT A CRIME !
