PEABODY & METROPOLITAN - FAIL PAYING RESIDENTS AT COLINDALE GARDENS

The Issue

I’m a key worker, like many others living in Holborough House. I bought my flat through shared ownership to take a step onto the property ladder- but instead of comfort and security, we’re enduring daily distress.

From as early as 6am until 11pm, we’re subjected to relentless noise and vibrations from a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit installed beneath our homes. This isn't just background noise- it shakes our walls, disturbs our rest, and severely impacts our wellbeing. Even with earplugs, the sound and vibration are unavoidable.  

It’s not just me. Many of my neighbours are forced to sleep in their living rooms to escape the constant hum and vibration in their bedrooms. We’re exhausted, anxious, and worn down - in the very homes we’ve worked hard to afford.  

Despite months of complaints to Peabody and Metropolitan Hot Water & Heating, nothing has changed. Peabody has not issued a single statement in response. Metropolitan shifts the blame. No one is taking responsibility. Meanwhile, service charges rise, and residents are left to suffer without support, transparency, or accountability.
