Like many others I come from the sim racing community. My goal here today is to get the current holders of the NASCAR Racing Season 2003 license (my understanding is that iRacing currently has the rights) to release the .exe code to the long time fans/modders of this 13 year old game! Fans all over the world have been modding this game since it was made optional. To this day, NR2003 still has a huge following and hundreds of still active websites dedicated to updating this game and keeping it alive! However, since this game is 13 years old and nobody has access to edit the .exe files, there is only so much that we as fans can do. With the .exe code the possibilities are endless on what we can do. We can take this 13 year old game and turn it into the most realistic up to date sim out there! This is where the challenge arrives. I understand that iRacing will not want to release the code with the fear of it surpassing their own current project which is why I ask for an alternative. If we cannot be given the rights to the .exe code, could the staff at iRacing take the time to recreate an updated version of the game? Or at the very least add an offline feature to their already popular sim iRacing?
