All parents see it. The struggle between  working full time and raising good humans is insane. We take it as normal and try with all we have to be everything that everybody needs because financially, we have to. Our current government are happy to pay for childcare but not for the genuine love and at home care of a parent. We don’t want to miss our children’s milestones because we’re on a work trip or zoom meeting. We don’t want to ask for time off to take our sick babies to the doctors. No one wants to feel like a bad parent at work and a terrible employee at home. It's time for change. It’s time to stop pretending families don’t matter. And forcing childcare upon us all as the only option! 

There is so substitute to a Stay at Home parent. The support, care and love they provide is vital in child development, yet the system does not recognize or support this crucial role. It's time that Stay at Home parents are recognised and compensated the equivalent of what the government pays for childcare. This amount, which ranges from $120 to $205 per day per child, would not just provide financial relief but also empower parents to make the best choice for their families without feeling the constant pressure of financial insecurity.

Moreover, the shortcomings in childcare facilities, highlighted by numerous instances of insolvencies and closures, poor care standards, and even horrifying cases of misconduct and child abuse, underscore the need for change. Parents should have the opportunity to support and nurture their children at home without compromising their family's financial stability. 

Supporting family’s by providing them with financial assistance equivalent to childcare costs could significantly reduce the mental and emotional burden on these parents, foster a better environment for both the children and their families, and in turn ensure our communities are filled with stable people as these children grow into our future adults.
