Thank you to everyone who signed our petition.

Together, we set out to force Westminster Council to pause its PDHU consultation — and because of your support, we succeeded. In total, 688 residents added their names.

This pause is an important step, but it is not the end of the campaign. The Council is already regrouping, and we will continue to need your support to ensure residents’ voices are genuinely heard.

What does the pause mean?
It means the Council has made clear that it is still analysing its original proposals — including major disruption to our homes, extensive internal works to replace pipework, reliance on untested energy sources, and even the transport of hot water by barge. None of these concerns have gone away, and neither has the risk to residents.

Sadly, residents have seen this pattern before. Westminster Council has a history of flawed consultations and weak oversight. Many will remember the Ebury Bridge Estate ballot, where residents voted for some bloakcs to be demolished, with the rest of the estate retained and refurbished, only for the Council to demolish the entire estate. More recently, over £27 million of public money was lost when a major housing contractor collapsed mid-project — a failure described as “reckless”.

These are not isolated incidents. They are exactly why we must stay organised, informed, and united.

If you haven’t already, please sign up to the Pimlico Unites mailing list.
This is how we will share updates, explain next steps, and continue holding the Council to account — together.

Best wishes,

Pimlico Unites
