Support Brighton's Legal Challenge for Transparency

Brighton Trees Are Coming Down!!!
Brighton Supervisor Refuses to Follow Town Rules
Brighton is about to permanently lose mature tree canopy and green space for a parking lot the town has not studied or justified. Once these trees come down they are gone for a generation.
What We Are Doing – The Legal Challenge
We have retained legal counsel to prepare a temporary restraining order and Article 78 proceeding against the Town — the legal tool for challenging a government that has failed to follow its own rules.
Our goal: Stall construction to force the transparent, public process this project deserved from the start.
The town used an exemption to bypass the environmental review and planning laws it requires of every private resident, business owner and developer in Brighton. Permitting agencies were not consulted as required by law. Then the town fast-tracked a construction bid ignoring two years of documented and widespread public objection.
The Town Hall Campus is the most significant project in over 30 years. We cannot let a flawed, secretive design define the heart of our community.
To fund this legal challenge we are asking for your financial support. If every resident who signed our Change.Org petition (and more) donates any amount, we will fully fund our legal challenge.
Thank you for standing up for transparency, accountability, and having a voice in our publicly owned facilities.
