Pause the Dissolution of the East Midlands Region and Allow Clubs a Fair Chance to Reform

The Issue

We are calling on England Boxing to pause the dissolution of the East Midlands Region and meet with the clubs, coaches, officials, boxers, volunteers and families who support a reformed regional structure.

We accept that change is needed. However, dissolution should not be the only option considered when clubs across the region are willing to support a full reset with new leadership, transparency, accountability, term limits and England Boxing oversight.

This decision affects grassroots clubs, young boxers, families, volunteers, officials and community programmes across the East Midlands.

We are not asking to return to the old system. We are asking for a fair opportunity to build a better one.

Many people across the region feel that previous attempts to resolve the issues have not been fully inclusive of every club and every voice affected by this decision. Moving forward, we believe there needs to be an open pathway for proper dialogue — not just decisions communicated by email, and not a process that feels dictated to clubs from behind a screen.

This petition is intended as a respectful request for further dialogue. It does not seek to attack England Boxing, any individual, club or region. We acknowledge that reform is needed and are asking only for the chance to present a structured alternative that protects boxing across the East Midlands.
