Release £238,000 Funding for Heartlands Resource Centre to Provide Essential Care Now

In the autumn of 2016, £238,000 of allocated funding was frozen by Councillor Paulette Hamilton. This was essential refurbishment funding which had been promised to Heartlands Resource Centre for Learning Disabled Adults when they relocated to their Inkerman Street, Nechells, Birmingham site in 2014.

The money is required so that toilet and changing facilities can be installed which will enable learning disabled adults with severe learning and physical needs to have placements at the centre.

Heartlands Resource Centre is an extremely popular provider of daycare for learning disabled adults in Birmingham, but unfortunately, 34 people have had to be refused places in the last three years simply because the refurbishment money has not been released.

If the money is released now, the building work can start and hope can be given to those learning disabled adults who want to come to Heartlands and also to their carers who desperately need the few hours of respite a day that the centre provides.

Please support our petition, help us to provide hope which will replace distress and despair for the most needy in our community. Thank you.
