Ban The Bag In Leslieville, Toronto, Before It's Too Late...

0 have signed. Let’s get to 2,500!

I am a grade 6 student, and citizen of Leslieville, who wants to change the incredible amount of plastic waste we produce. Every year Toronto wastes 240 million single-use plastic bags, and approximately 80% of these bags end up in lake Ontario or another water source. This is unacceptable seeing as we can easily solve this problem by banning single-use plastic bags and replacing them with re-usable ones. I've created this petition in the hopes that Paula Fletcher, Leslieville's city councillor, will take action against single-use plastic bags. Our goal is to reach 15,000 signers (preferably from Leslieville but any signatures will help) so we can potentially make a difference in our neighbourhood. Join us in the fight to ban the bag!
