To the People of Hesperia, CA,

As many of you are probably aware, our city lacks a big component of any civilized community, sidewalks. They may seem like simple, trivial things, but they serve a big purpose. They help keep our community members safe. Too often do I see children almost getting hit by cars, because they have to ride their bikes on the road otherwise the harsh desert plants will pop their wheels. Too often do I see women pushing their children in strollers on the road, because the dirt path makes pushing the stollers ridiculously hard, putting them in danger of getting hit by cars as well. Too often do I see a filthy mess in these dirt areas that go without cleaning because the litter is partially hidden under the dirt. Our city has the potential to be a more safe, more beautiful place to live in. Children should be able to ride their bikes or skateboards or scooters in a safe place; women should be able to walk with their children in a safe place; and everyone should be able to live in a clean city. If you care about making our city more people-friendly, so that we may go out and peacefully enjoy the place we live in, please consider signing this petition.
