“The ParkingEye payment system introduced at ULHT hospital car parks is not fit for purpose. The payment machines don’t work consistently. PCNs are issued in error. The system for Blue Badge holders is onerous and discriminatory. It isn’t user friendly for wheelchair users. Queues to pay cause people to go over the one hour limit & into the next payment band. I could go on.The system is causing unnecessary stress for people who are already stressed. No one visits a hospital for fun!”

Above is the original text of my petition. Following my meeting with ULHT it’s clear ParkingEye is here to stay BUT - it’s still not working anywhere near as it should do - too many faulty payment machines, too many PCNs being issued in error, too many appeals not upheld because ParkingEye aren’t using discretion or plain common sense. Too many vulnerable people being caused distress because the system IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY!

I’ve been told there are improvements in the pipeline - until they’re ready ULHT should consider suspending the system pending their implementation.

The barrier system wasn’t perfect but it was so much better than ANPR via ParkingEye.
