We all love our pets. They are a part of the family. When they get lost it is a traumatic experience for anyone. We rely so heavily on our animals and they on us. It has recently come to my attention that Queensland's and quite possibly the whole of Australias pound are inadequately managed. The protocol and procedures need to be question queried and changed.  I recently experienced its inadequacies first hand. A workman left the gate open and my Alaskan malamute escaped. Friday night. Picked up taken to the pound. No pick-up on weekends. Now there's no escalation protocol currently in place with the Toowoomba council to get any animal out on weekend's. No option. What if the animals have special needs? Medicine? Special food? No. That's not taken in to consideration. I also asked as to the case of a service dog e.g Guide Dog. The case was the same. The dog would remain the entire weekend. I just don't think it's good enough and would like your voices to help me.
