Dear colleagues and supporters,

Thank you all very much for your ongoing support with the petition and helping us reach 7500+ signatures, keep in mind that we must not let go and that everything helps. As a result of our combined efforts, here is how things stand:

1- Global BC interviewed Dr Vahid Nilforushan on the matter.
https://globalnews.ca/video/6716570/international-medical-graduates-petition-to-help-during-covid-19-pandemic/

2- AIMGBC (the IMG association in BC) has received emails from Family Medicine divisions of Mission, Abbotsford, and Surrey requesting for IMG’s collaboration to help run screening and assessment units.

3- Organizations in Ontario have come forward to collaborate with us to help us reach responsible authorities.

4- CPSO (College of Physicians in Ontario) has instituted a short duration registration which can be requested by hospitals, however, it is still not clear who will qualify for it and IF it will apply to IMGs.

5- An entire community of IMGs has come together in the hope of contributing meaningfully to Canada’s health care system in this time of need and alleviate pressure on their colleagues.

These are small steps in the right direction. WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT in order take further actionable measures

Next steps

1- We are attempting to gain more media attention and hence real-life traction for the petition.

2- We are continuing to build a community of IMGs who are willing and able to contribute by their skills.

If you know any IMGs in Canada or are one yourself, kindly add yourself to :

A special thanks to Dr Vahid Nilforushan for his continued assistance in bringing media attention to the petition and our efforts.
