The Department of Justice states that guardianship laws are a vehicle to elder abuse under the current Clerk of Court guidelines.  Patsy's Law aims to remove individual interpretation of the law by the Clerks of Court, to a uniformed mandatory reporting of abuse in regard to recusing, financial exploitation, and elder abuse of the ward.
