The countryside is becoming increasingly built upon resulting in faster traffics along country lanes and more traffic in general. This is combined with the online delivery companies that have increased in number and often travel at speed to get their work done. The roads are no longer safe to ride horses on. The BHS keeps the records for the many accidents that occur annually with horses on the roads. We don't want to be on the roads either but have nowhere else to go. The Bridlepath network is poor or non existent and new Bridlepaths are NEVER considered in all of the new building developments. There are many footpaths that could be converted to Bridlepaths but nobody is looking at this either. We would really like somehow to remove ourselves from the road where possible - this would keep both horse riders and road users happy. This needs to be looked into to avoid more tragic road incidents.
