The year is 2016, and thankfully the world is changing its views on animal rights/friendly products-But not Sofitel Brisbane- I recently stayed at the highly regarded worldwide chain luxury hotel-Sofitel Brisbane Australia, when asking the head chef if the eggs used are free range I was utterly gob smacked to be told "no we use only caged eggs" this was then confirmed by the food & beverage manager. How is it that such a widely renowned and modern hotel is using caged eggs! the cost of $280 a room per night, $50 a night parking and $53 per person for breakfast there is absolutely no excuse for this abomination! We all know the atrocities poor hens go through at factory farms, their lives spent in cages not much bigger than themselves, no sunlight, no fresh air, not knowing what it feels like to stand and stretch their wings, the feel of grass under their feet or the simple natural pleasure of scratching in the dirt for food-Please join me in demanding Sofitel hotel chain and all of its affiliates stop using caged eggs and go to organic free range!
