Patients over Profits, support the nurses of RWJBARNABAS in their fight for safe staffing!
The Issue
The nurses of RWJBARNABAS have now been on strike for 47 days fighting for safe staffing levels that puts the health of their patients over the profit of the hospital.
In an unprecedented attempt to bust their Union USW Local 4-200, RWJBARNABAS filed for a temporary restraining order against the nurses who have been peacefully demonstrating for the past 46 days without incident. A hearing is now scheduled for Friday September 22, 2023 in Middlesex County Superior Court.
The 1,700 nurses voted today, overwhelmingly rejecting RWJBARNABAS original offer that would continue to put the hospitals profits over the care of their patients and does nothing to address the safe staffing issues. Please sign this petition to thank the men and woman nurses who are there when we need them most and send a message to the Board and Executives of RWJBARNABAS who after 47 days continue to put their profits over the care of their patients and continue to try and bust USW Local 4-200
The primary focal point of this strike pertains to the establishment of safe and appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
A multitude of extensive studies and comprehensive literature reviews consistently affirm that maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios undeniably enhances patient outcomes.
The nurses of RWJUH earnestly request the implementation of adequate staffing levels within the hospital premises.
This is crucial to establish an environment that prioritizes both safety and healing.
