As one member of the Oshkosh Common Council, I cannot speak on behalf of the Council as a whole. However, I support a moratorium because I believe we should fully evaluate the potential impacts of large-scale data centers on our shared water resources, electrical infrastructure, and long-term planning before moving forward.

I also believe this is best addressed through a coordinated regional approach, as these resources extend beyond municipal boundaries. That is why a coordinated effort with the City and County is vital.

The Common Council is expected to discuss the proposed moratorium on July 14, and I encourage residents to follow the discussion and share their perspectives with the Council.
