Pass the Fossil Free Finance Act to Prevent Big Banks from Loaning Money to Gas, Oil, Coal
The Issue
We still have time to save people, homes, wildlife and life on Earth. The sooner we act, the more we save! Oil, coal, LNG, and gas are fossil fuels. They are the main cause of pollution that is disrupting our climate and causing super-charged hurricanes, fires, floods, severe droughts, and other disasters.
Lets pass the Fossil Free Finance Act so that it becomes law in the U.S. This bill in Congress would prevent banks from loaning money to fund gas, coal, and oil projects (fossil fuel corporations). It would also prevent big banks from loaning money for new oil, coal, and gas projects within 60 days of it becoming law. Bank loans to coal would become unlawful by 2025. Bank loans for all fossil fuels would become unlawful by 2030. Here is the link to the actual bill in Congress.
