The Issue

On September 27, 2021, our lives changed forever. We lost our 19-year-old brother, Christopher “Bubba” Griffiths, in a tragic car accident while driving home from work.

In the immediate aftermath, we were faced not only with grief, but with assumptions. Early reports suggested reckless driving, placing blame on a young man who could no longer speak for himself. But the truth later showed he had been t-boned, forcing his vehicle into oncoming traffic.

The other driver claimed they “didn’t see him coming.” Yet evidence at the scene suggested proper caution could have prevented this tragedy.

What is even harder to accept is this: while Christopher was subjected to toxicology testing, the surviving driver was not.

To this day, our family is left with an unbearable question—was impairment a factor?

No family should have to live with that uncertainty.

We are calling for the passage of the Bubba Act, which would require mandatory toxicology testing for ALL drivers involved in fatal accidents.

This law would ensure:

Equal and fair investigations
Accountability for all parties involved
Answers and closure for grieving families
Christopher was a son, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend—a young man with a heart of gold whose life was taken far too soon.

Help us turn our grief into change. Please stand with us.

Sign our petition and help ensure no other family is left wondering.
