That Wisconsin stands for safety, compassion, and the safeguarding of innocent lives. We have a responsibility to act in a timely manner and effectively to prevent such heartbreak. Extreme Risk Protection Orders laws empower courts to temporarily restrict firearm access for individuals who pose a risk to themselves or others. By implementing this measure, we can intervene before tragedy strikes. Wisconsin’s legislators have failed to pass this law and have put it on hold. No family deserves to go through the tragedy of losing a loved one. My son Henry and countless others have lost their lives.
