Thoughts and prayers are not enough. We need action. Gun violence is the number one cause of death for children in the United States in 2023. That is outrageous and we need to do more. I have become involved in gun violence prevention work, but my involvement started out deeply personal when my 16-year-old son Henry was killed by his father while on a scheduled visit. That brought me to do advocacy work here in Wisconsin. I also want to connect survivors impacted by all forms of gun violence from across the nation by empowering survivors to lead advocacy efforts to create change. I’m doing this to make sure that no other family suffers the way we have over the loss of Henry. I want to empower survivors to get out there and fight for change. My work is far from over, but I know we can and will get there. Sincerely, Henry’s Mother
