The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act provides the first federal funding for the implementation of extreme risk protection orders (ERPOs), also known as “red flag laws.” States now have access to new federal funding for ERPO under this act, providing significant opportunities for states to implement these lifesaving laws of ERPO and fully realize the need for these policies.
