For the millions of Americans affected by domestic violence every year, an abuser's access to firearms can mean the difference between life and death. In fact, when an abusive person has access to a gun, a domestic violence victim is five times more likely to be killed. Red Flag Law/Extreme Risk Protection Orders can save lives and prevent firearms from being used as tools of intimidation, coercion, an abuse by keeping people from accessing guns. Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of gun- related deaths.
