Companies use prison labor to make products at extremely low costs and make hundreds of millions of dollars on these products. Prison labor wage is as low as $0.14/hour and at best $2.00/hour,  this is modern day slavery. It is no secret the current prison system in America is designed FOR PROFIT, made possible by the exception clause in the 13th Amendment. 

Companies are quick to advertise "cage free" eggs, or "cruelty free" make-up products if they are made without using animal testing. Why are they not also as quick to advertise when they use prison labor - a.k.a. HUMAN CRUELTY to make their products? 

This petition is to demand that congress pass "Jolly's Law" which will DEMAND that if a product is made in WHOLE or IN PART by ANY prison labor then they are required to LABEL the product CLEARLY as being "Made with Prison Labor". 

In so doing this will allow the American consumer to make the decision whether or not they truly want to support a corporation and buy their product if it is made using slave labor. Prison reform and ending mass incarceration in this country is a LONG overdue necessity. In order to do so we must first make it less incentivized for these corporations to use prison labor. Jolly's Law is a way to begin exposing the huge multi-billion dollar slave labor industry in America and begin the process of ending for profit prisons forever.
