I want to share the latest update regarding Jayden’s Law (Senate Bill 138).

SB 138 was introduced in the Kentucky Senate and was referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee on February 11, 2026, where it is currently awaiting further action.

As part of the legislative process, bills must be reviewed by the appropriate committee before they can advance to the full Senate for consideration.

Over the past several weeks, I have remained in communication with legislators regarding the bill and its progress. Most recently, I reached out to members of the Judiciary Committee to respectfully inquire whether there are any concerns or questions that may need to be addressed before the bill can be scheduled for a hearing.

The goal remains the same as it has always been: ensuring that Kentucky law fully protects children and closes the gaps that have allowed serious harm to occur.

Legislation often moves slowly, especially when it involves complex criminal statutes. However, the conversation around Jayden’s Law continues, and I remain committed to seeing this issue addressed.

I will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
