Friends,
I’m proud to share an important and meaningful update with you:
Jayden’s Law has officially been filed in the Kentucky Senate as Senate Bill 138 (SB 138).
Thanks to the commitment and leadership of State Senators Brandon Smith and Scott Madon, Jayden’s Law is now a live piece of legislation in the 2026 Kentucky General Assembly.
This moment would not have happened without you.
Your signatures, your messages, and your willingness to speak up helped move Jayden’s Law from an idea into a formally filed bill that can now be debated, heard in committee, and voted on.
Why SB 138 Matters
Jayden’s Law was written to fix long-standing gaps in Kentucky law that have left children unprotected, especially children ages 13 to 18.
While other proposals still limit the strongest protections to children under 12, SB 138 recognizes a simple truth:
A 16-year-old is still a child.
Jayden’s Law ensures:
Equal protection for all children under 18
Stronger consequences for the most severe abuse and exploitation
Closure of custody and visitation loopholes for convicted abusers
Modern protections that reflect how abuse actually occurs today
What Happens Next
SB 138 will now be assigned to a Senate committee, where it can receive hearings and public testimony. This is a critical phase, and your continued support will matter.
For now, I ask you to:
Stay engaged
Be ready for clear next steps once SB 138 is scheduled for committee consideration
I will continue to provide updates as the bill moves forward and will let you know exactly how you can help at each stage.
Thank You
This petition helped give a voice to children who do not have one.
It helped show lawmakers that Kentuckians expect equal protection for every child.
Thank you for standing with me — and for standing up for Kentucky’s children.
