Without the passage of this bill many if not all Radiologist Assistant programs will shut down and those currently working as Radiologist Assistants will lose their jobs. I've poured my heart and soul into this profession and every day I strive to make a difference in my patients' lives. I honestly do believe that if this profession collapses, patient safety within radiology will suffer tremendously. I want to continue to ensure that all patients receive only the best quality of care once they reach our radiology departments, but if congress does not act soon, this may not be a reality for very much longer.

This bill allows Radiologist to bill Medicare Programs for the work performed by Radiologist Assistants. A Radiologist Assistant is a mid level healthcare provider that specializes in the field of medicine known as Radiology. Currently, the government allows all other mid level health care providers the ability to bill for their services rendered. As a profession all we are asking for is equal treatment by the government. This bill will increase patient safety, decrease the amount of money paid out by medicare programs, and create well paying jobs. This bill will cost nothing to enact and in return it will save the government/us the tax payers millions a year. Please help me break the grid lock in DC so that common sense bills like these get passed. Lets help get America back in the black!
