Three more news outlets cover the petition!
Apr 29, 2017 — Hello supporters,
I have a nice update to share. Three more outlets have covered the petition:
CBS 6 (Richmond, VA)
WDBJ7 (Roanoke, VA)
The Bristol Herald Courier newspaper
Please visit the following links and SHARE them so we can show the media that news like this is worthy.
YOUR VOICE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE! The media is really starting to take notice and we have to keep that momentum going. The following news outlets still have not covered the story (to my knowledge). Please email these addresses:
Here is an updated letter you can copy and paste into your email to each outlet:
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to make you aware of a large movement to pass legislation in Virginia that will protect dogs from being left outside in extreme weather. Several dogs have frozen to death and died of heat stroke, and this proposed law will prevent owners from openly abusing their dogs. A petition was started last month and is nearing 14,000 signatures. You can read the petition and the related statistics here:
PLEASE consider running a story on this movement. NBC12, CBS6, WDBJ7, ABC8, and the Bristol Herald Courier have already covered it. This is quickly becoming a large mission and meetings are being set up with Virginia legislators. If you would like to reach Gary Sweeney, the creator of the petition, please email him at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
Lastly, don't forget that I have added a fundraiser to the petition. This is to fund a video that will feature several animal professionals in Virginia speaking about the dangers of leaving dogs outside in harsh weather.
