The Issue

Growing up in Wisconsin, my family has faced numerous challenges – from financial hardships to managing health conditions that demand expensive treatments. As a current student, these financial barriers make it difficult for me to focus on my studies and envision a promising future. Family members with disabilities have been dependent on state assistance like BadgerCare, Medicaid, and social security, which has served as a crucial lifeline during tough times. Moreover, some of my loved ones rely on insulin to manage their diabetes, and this too comes with a heavy financial burden.

2025 Assembly Bill 62 aims to provide much-needed relief and support to individuals and families like mine by expanding access to essential health services and resources. This bill, if passed, will ensure broader coverage under BadgerCare and Medicaid, making healthcare more affordable and accessible. Crucially, it includes provisions to help working families, students, and individuals managing chronic health conditions, alleviating the financial stress that currently grips so many families.

Passing this bill would mean families with young children won't have to make impossible choices between healthcare and other basic needs. Individuals with disabilities will see improved access to necessary support, and families who require life-saving medications like insulin will do so without the constant fear of breaking the bank.

Wisconsin has an opportunity to lead by example, showcasing compassionate governance that prioritizes the wellbeing of its residents. It's a step toward fairness and equality in healthcare access. Support this movement to ensure that no family has to endure the hardships that mine, and so many of yours has faced. Let’s rally together to urge our legislators to pass the 2025 Assembly Bill 62.

Sign this petition to stand in solidarity with Wisconsin families, and to advocate for a more equitable healthcare system for everyone.
