The Issue
On September 18, 2020, Sebastian Eduardo Vazquez Carpio was shot and killed at the home of Edgar De La Cruz. Sebastian’s body was kept for more than five hours in his backyard. De La Cruz stole a vehicle at gun point, went back to his home and placed Sebastian’s body in the trunk of the vehicle and drove to a location where the body and vehicle were incinerated. Felipe Angel Perez Jr. assisted Edgar by disposing of the murder weapon and Sebastian’s cell phone. This was a heinous crime and Felipe confessed to it.
Felipe Angel Perez Jr. (SID#: 20560905, TDCJ# 02508760) pled guilty to Tampering with Evidence Intent Impair 3rd Degree Murder and was sentenced to 8 years in prison. This offender has only served 1 year, 11 months, 20 days of his sentence and is in the process of review by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP). His next parole hearing is scheduled for May 2025. The purpose of this review is for the BPP to decide whether or not to release Felipe Angel Perez Jr. to supervision. Supervision means the offender would serve the remainder of his sentence in the community under the supervision of a parole officer.
We, the undersigned STRONGLY OPPOSE for Felipe Angel Perez Jr. to be released to supervision. Justice demands he serve the full prison term of life given to him at the time he was sentenced for this heinous crime.
You are welcome to provide a written statement to help the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles (BPP) understand how the offense has affected you. Any input you provide will be made part of the offender's permanent file and will be considered by the BPP before a final decision is made.
His next parole hearing is scheduled for May 2025. To ensure your input is received prior to voting the case, please send written statements or emails to justiceforsebastiancarpio@gmail.com.
