If it's not real gravy it should be clearly acknowledged. If it's made from granules, includes monosodium glutamate it should say so. 

If you ask for gravy - you should get gravy. Not some chemical formula to fool your tastebuds into thinking it's really gravy.

It's 2016. 

Surely it's time we knew exactly what certain establishments were passing off as gravy.  

This might seem trivial but gravy is important and enough-is-enough. It's time we got the facts.

If our expectations were managed and you knew in advance it was fake gravy, then you've made your own bed and you're making an informed decision. If not, and you find out at a later date you feel terribly betrayed.

It's time to raise the gravy standards.
