Deborah Haigh started this petition to Parliament and

After the Grenfell tower fire the Government set up a fund to pay for the removal of unsafe ACM cladding in high rise buildings.

However, leaseholders in high rise buildings are finding that this fund only covers certain types of combustible cladding, not all.

In addition, leaseholders are also finding that this fund does not cover wider repair works to buildings in order to make them fully fire safety compliant.

For example, the replacement of combustible insulation, rectifying inadequately installed fire breaks between floors or replacing ‘silent’ fire alarms for sounding alarms.

As a result, leaseholders in apartment blocks nationwide are facing potentially crippling charges just to make our homes, bought in good faith, safe to live in.

We, as leaseholders, are facing the financial and emotional burden of homes that don’t, through no fault of our own, meet the required fire safety standards (now or historically) and we need your urgent help to take our plight to Parliament.

Thank you.
