During the turmoil era, Nepalese students fought for democracy through the college and university student union bodies. Similarly, key officials of the university are still nominated by the government and it is a political decision rather academic. To make universities and all colleges affiliated to the university must be free from politics. All vice-chancellors, registrars and other key positions must be filled based on academic excellence rather than political affiliations.
