Did you know that the government of Catalonia is preparing a law so that Ferran Adrià can build in the protected area of the Natural Park of Cap de Creus? Me neither. When I found out I created this petition and I want to ask for your support to help avoid this.
elBulli1846 is a new project of "gastronomic experimentation" by Ferran Adrià. It is a complex of more than 5400 square meters located in the cala Montjoi, a protected and characteristic area within the Natural Park of Cap de Creus, in Roses (Alt Empordà, Catalonia). For the project to be carried out at this site, it is necessary for the Government to bypass several laws that protect the natural park. The process is already underway: on 14 July, the Generalitat de Catalunya took a first step by publishing a draft of the law that will declare the project 'public interest', using the summer break to process a very controversial project criticized by various sectors of civil society.
A nature reserve is a protected area that belongs to all of us and is a legacy for future generations. Ironically, in the 1960s, a "green" development was allowed to be build in this area, the holiday village "Mediterraneé Club", which has ended up being dismantled with money from all taxpayers thanks to the law that protects the nature park.
The area of the Cap de Creus and its surroundings do not need tourist attractions. Nature parks are created to protect highly vulnerable areas of great natural value from individual ambition. That is why elBulli1846 should find a different location outside the park.
Requests the Government of Catalonia to not pass a law "suited" to Ferran Adrià and to maintain the protection of the Parc Natural Cap de Creus.
