Legalisation of Medical Cannabis in the UK from the NHS for Chronic Illnesses
Why this petition matters

Cannabis has been used throughout history as a medicinal herbal treatment. It is a plant that can help with all kinds of ailments, yet in the UK it is still prohibited as a class B drug. Private companies in the UK are currently prescribing medical cannabis and charging patients but my wish is for the NHS to approve and make available medical cannabis for those with chronic health conditions. If it were to be legalised and regulated in the proper way to be safe and monitored in the same way that other medications are then surely we can utilise this natural medicine? The USA has legalised it in some states already for medicinal use and there are so many people benefiting from it, including cancer patients. Cannabis can be turned into an oil that can be used so people with illnesses can have a chance at a better quality of life. Chronic illnesses that have changed people’s lives such as epilepsy, FND & arthritis could be turned around for the better, people with cancer could have a better chance and big pharmaceutical companies along with the NHS could offer the oil just the same as they do any other medication. Who is losing? I recently watched a Netflix documentary called Weed the People and it opened my eyes to the possibilities of medicinal cannabis. I hope it can open your eyes too and you can join me in fighting for change. Thank you
