Hey everyone

Every year there’s a bit debate on whether people should be allowed to set off fireworks they’ve purchased from a store. I appreciate the fact that fireworks are beautiful, can bring families together and all in all are good fun for some. On the other hand there are people like myself, who have been in terrorist attacks, at war or similar situations who are terrified of them. Not only can they be very dangerous if they’re put into the wrong hands, but for sufferers of PTSD, they can take you back to situations you don’t want to remember. Unfortunately for myself I was in the Ariana Grande attack back in 2017. I suffer with severe PTSD, meaning that especially this time of year I’m terrified to sleep, terrified to leave the house and every single firework affects me. I have set this up, to hopefully be able to reach parliament and ask that fireworks are banned unless at an authorised fireworks display, that way, everyone gets to make a choice about whether they would like to see and hear them or not. Not only will this be safer for communities like my own, but will hopefully stop and make individuals who are purchasing fireworks to set off at home, to stop and think what this could be doing to individuals mental health’s who are severely affected by the loud bangs and repeated flashbacks they get this time of year. Thank you for taking your time to look into this, and signing this petition❤️
