Ellos duermen en el suelo, en sotanos o cobertizos, sin calefacción. Las noches son frías en invierno, cerca de las montañas en España. El galgo en la imagen o ha sido abandonado o ha escapado del galguero. Rescatado de un edificio abandonado. Sin heridas, un perro afortunado... Algunas optimistas por lo visto creen, que se puede convencer al gobierno presente español a actuar para los galgos. Sin embargo, es dificil entender por que creen este. El Partido Popular, en gobierno, es frequentemente considerado el partido menos interesado en los animales. Siempre insiste que los festejos taurinos, donde toros torturan en frente de niños, es de grán importancia cultural y deberán mantener, por supuesto pagados con impuestos. Los únicos partidos políticos que se pueden llamar amistosos a los animales son Podemos y Partido Animalista. Desgraciamente, no es probable que recibirán suficientes votos para poder hacer una diferencia para los galgos. La Unión Europea podría prohibir el uso de galgos para la caza, utilizando su poder de hacer leyes de caza. Al contrario al mito unfortunado, la caza no está bajo la soberanía nacional. Hay más que veinte asociaciones especializadas en rescatar galgos. Muchas más rescatan por primero perros de otras razas o de raza mixta, pero de vez en cuando también un galgo o podenco. Aquí hay tres ejemplos de asociaciones, que tienen grandes costes veterinarios por rescatar a galgos gravemente heridas: Asociación Baasgalgo, Asociación Galgos del Sur, Galgos 112. The only political parties that could be called animal friendly are Podemos and Partido Animalista. The European Union can stop the use of Galgos for hunting, by using its power to make hunting laws. In contrary to the unfortunate myth, hunting laws are not beneath national sovereignty.
