Hoy empieza la temporada de caza. The hunting season starts today. English text continues below. En Andalucia empieza la temporada de caza el día 8 de octubre 2017. Deciden las regiones cuando empieza la caza, pero va a empezar en todas las regiones en esta mes. Miles de galgos jóvenes que no cazan suficiente bien, (según la opinión de los galgueros), van a ser matados de distintas maneras no muy agradables. Como, por ejemplo, el ahorcamiento, ser pegado hasta morir, o quedar sin comer para que se mueran de hambre. El interes en el Parlamento Europeo hasta ahora para la petición ha sido, más o menos, como esperado. La petición por lo visto ha sido leido por una parte de los políticos, aunque por supuesto otra parte no han llegado más alla de sus secretarios. Ha respondido una parlamentaria, ella gustaba la iniciativa. (Responder a veces desgraciamente podría significar que el nombre del político sea utilizado en maneras no deseables.) Los periodicos son, como casi siempre, dificiles. Muchos periodicos europeos tienen ingresos muy grandes de los anuncios de las agencias de viajes. También, en algunos países el interes de lo que ocurre en España es modesto. En los últimos diez años se ha tratado convencer a los gobiernos de España de hacer algo para los galgos. Sin resultado. Al hombre con barba fumando un puro en las corridas de toros no le interesa el sufrimento de los galgos... Thousands of young Galgos, that are not good enough at hunting, (in the opinion of the hunters), will be killed in different, not at all pleasant, ways. For example, hanging, being beaten to death, or simply left somewhere without food until they starve to death. The interest in the European Parliament for the petition has been, more or less, as expected. Some of the parliamentarians have read the petition, other part have most likely not gotten any further than their secretaries. One parliamentarian has responded, positively. (Responding to petitions can, unfortunately, sometimes signify that the politicians name will be used in less desirable ways.) Newspapers have proven, as so often, difficult. Many European newspapers receive large amounts of money from travel agents advertising. Also, in some countries the interest for what is going on in Spain is modest. During the last ten years, numerous attempts have been made to convince the governments of Spain to do something for the Galgos. Without result.
